Following the Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s speech to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Council in Paris at the end of June, ABC Radio Perth and WA presenter Nadia Mitsopoulos spoke with Dr Chris Vas, General Manager of the Food Innovation Precinct Western Australia (FIPWA).
OECD is an international organisation that works to build better policies for better lives, with the goal to shape policies that foster prosperity, equality, opportunity and well-being for all.
Mr Albanese referred to Australia being a major food exporter with a significant role to play in securing access to goods, and said his government will continue to work with farmers to reduce emissions, supporting global food security and sustainability.
Dr Vas discussed the role FIPWA, and its partners, will play as the precinct draws closer to completion, as well as domestic food and nutritional security, supplying domestic and overseas markets and game changing technologies that use less water and pesticides.
